Smash Mouth's Steve Harwell 'Just Fine' Following Hospitalization & Concert Cancelations

Steve Harwell of Smash Mouth performs at the Summer Concert Series at The Park at The Grove on July 20, 2016 in Los Angeles.
Smash Mouth called off its Memphis, Tenn., show Thursday night (Aug. 31) when frontman Steve Harwell paid a visit to the hospital due to difficulty breathing, TMZreports.
Harwell's manager confirms to Billboard that he was taken to the hospital, but says it "was not an emergency situation." The singer was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle that can makes it hard for the heart to deliver blood to the body, two years ago.
"Whenever he is not feeling great we take precautionary measures just to make sure everything is OK, especially while he is on the road touring," he explains. "The doctor is running some tests but he appears to be just fine and intends to resume the tour tomorrow night in Portsmouth, Ohio. We are rescheduling the show for tonight in Edwardsville, Ill."
